Don was raised in southeast Wyoming and earned a business degree from the University of Wyoming. After college he moved to Colorado achieving a successful career; first as a CPA, and later in the property management industry. After 36 years living in Colorado he returned to Wyoming, now residing in Wapiti with Joan, his "significant other". Wapiti is just 30 miles from Yellowstone and close to many other great wildlife photography locations.

Don has been an avid nature photographer since the late 80s. Within the US he has photographed extensively in the Rocky Mountain region, Alaska, Florida and Texas. Internationally he has photographed in Canada, Kenya, Tanzania, South Africa, Botswana, Galapagos Islands and the Pantanal of Brazil. His photography has earned numerous awards and his photos have been used in many magazines, calendars, books and other media.
